20-Sided Die from Ancient Egypt

This 20-sided die unearthed in Egypt reportedly dates from between 300 and 30 BCE, and is now being kept in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.  This proves that the Egyptians (or their Greek masters during the Ptolemaic Era) played Dungeons and Dragons long before us!

Epic Mario Bros. inspired Light Fixture

The dudes at Lootiful are selling this wonderful lighting fixture--some assembly required. It's $55 USD, but you can make that back by punching the bottom of it 55 times.

NB: yes, punching, not headbutting; look closely at the pixels. It's Mario's fist that bashes bricks and boxes, not his noggin as the common misconception goes.

OregonLive.com reports David Allen Canterbury entered his local Hayden Island Toys-R-Us after 9am on December 14, armed himself with two lightsabres, and began attacking other customers. When police arrived to arrest him, he successfully blocked a police taser with one of the lightsabres. Neat!

Before a judge, Mr Canterbury apologized to those injured, and stated he had been seeking mental health treatment. Hayden Island is part of Portland, Oregon, and not named after Mr. Christensen. Picture courtesy of Geeks Are Sexy.
